The first luxury 26 storey high-rise on the High Line in New York City, The Caledonia has made its mark in historic Chelsea selling out over half of its condominiums in just eight weeks. With city and river views, the 10,000 square foot lobby boasts a sky-lit space flanked by a 15-foot cascading water wall and reflecting pool which runs the entire length of the lobby. Inspirational Feng Shui elements of earth, fire, water, wood, and metal give a raw industrial feel, as incorporated in many of Clodagh’s designs. Bluestone lines the floor, leading to a small Zen-infused garden of river rocks and bamboo. Custom artworks enhance the unique ambiance of the space, lining the vast walls, including sculptural back-lit tree grates. A cozy library designed for Assouline Publishing House forms a waiting room at one end of the lobby, complete with a working fireplace and custom bookshelves. An additional children’s room, party room, and Equinox gym, all designed by Clodagh, complete the public space.
